Outside Changes for Great Internal Joy - Highgate

Brought in to create a seamless flow between the inside and outside living areas of this contemporary home in Highgate.

A Pink Juneberry Tree was carefully selected and planted to invite a merging of the spaces. Meanwhile, the hand-made cement tiles where chosen to create a natural and relaxed look. On the sunny back wall, an Ibiza-inspired seating area encourages long, loungey afternoons. The vintage wrought-iron fence panel above acts as a kind of pergola, creating both shade and a delightful scent in the hotter summer months, thanks to the fast-growing Jasmine.

The custom-made Western red Cedar door was designed to create a visual barrier, to hide away bikes, bins and other garden essentials that can quickly clutter up a garden. On the side-wall rendered in a soft, warm pink, a French stone sink sits surrounded by potted plants, transforming the modest garden tap – an often over-looked garden essential – into a visual joy.
