In order to create a side-return kitchen and utility room, we used pre-existing material such as bricks and reclaimed floorboards to create a natural, flowing look - as if the space had always been there. Colours such as Peignoir, Ammonite and Nancy’s blushes were used to subtly define particular zones in the house and to create a sense of space. The kitchen, storage and window-seating area were designed bespoke using oak and brass to meet the storage demands of our client. The glass sliding doors, which retreat into the cavity of the wall, create a sense of unity between the kitchen and living area. Meanwhile, the new utility at the end of the hallway, doubles up as a cloakroom and the family’s bikes, which previously cluttered up the hallway, are now neatly tucked away under the stairs. The bespoke bookcase made from oak add a further touch of Japan, while the Tadelakt-inspired bathroom, made from microcement, creates a hand-crafted, seamless and serene aesthetic. Meanwhile the encaustic cement tiles made by hand and resin flooring in the children’s bathrooms add a playful, spirited touch. At the front of the house, we worked with deep, dark colours, giving the study and front living room depth and a surprisingly calming atmosphere, whilst the contemporary extension was executed in light tones, bringing air and openness into the space and inviting the garden in. We designed bespoke, key pieces such as the fireplace unit and dining table, as well as designing the master bedroom and bathroom and the furniture within it. We also sourced a variety of objects for the different rooms in this house, focusing on every detail. A combination of materials such as Hungarian wool, light oak wood and resin were used, amongst others, to create an enticing blend of minimal ethnic meets modern luxury. We designed bespoke furniture for all living areas, making sure the spaces were markedly different and yet suited to the young individuals that were to take up residence. In the son’s room, a bespoke wardrobe and desk unit, made from steel, melamine and warm oak creates a sporty mood that is further enhanced with ammonite, navy and deep burgundy colour palette. In the daughter’s bedroom, a custom-built white desk unit as well as a 3-door wardrobe with asymmetric brass handles and gold voile curtains set a bright, fresh tone. Meanwhile in the den, an L-shaped sofa executed in white washed, heavy grained plywood, which can be brought together to create a king-sized bed, is upholstered in a cotton/linen fabric- perfect for both after-school lounging and welcoming guests. The sink, hand-carved from marble, complete with natural edges and the Marrakech wall paint, adorns the downstairs bathroom. A Pink Juneberry Tree was carefully selected and planted to invite a merging of the spaces. Meanwhile, the hand-made cement tiles where chosen to create a natural and relaxed look. On the sunny back wall, an Ibiza-inspired seating area encourages long, loungey afternoons. The vintage wrought-iron fence panel above acts as a kind of pergola, creating both shade and a delightful scent in the hotter summer months, thanks to the fast-growing Jasmine. The custom-made Western red Cedar door was designed to create a visual barrier, to hide away bikes, bins and other garden essentials that can quickly clutter up a garden. On the side-wall rendered in a soft, warm pink, a French stone sink sits surrounded by potted plants, transforming the modest garden tap – an often over-looked garden essential – into a visual joy. The wide Iroko steps leading into the garden function as an area to sit and enjoy the sun. In the first segment of the garden, Iron decking was used to create the perfect platform for dining with friends. Meanwhile, the organic-shaped dining table was chosen to soften the lines of the garden and a retractable parasol was installed to create shade from the heat of the sun. A bespoke L-shaped bench, also made from oak sleepers, was placed under the shade of the olive tree to provide an extra seating area. The horizontal fencing, also made from Iroko, gently guides the eye towards the chill-out area, where a hanging chair awaits, suspended from a bespoke structure soon to be covered in scented jasmine. Meanwhile the vertical fencing was painted in dark mahogany to create a feeling of cosiness, enhanced at night by the portable garden lighting, which emits a variety of moods, from bright light to candle light. In keeping with the couple’s minimalist aesthetic, we created room schemes that exuded a peacefulness whilst ensuring necessary storage needs were met. The bedroom, previously painted in dark tones, was transformed into a peaceful haven using soft sage green shades. To complete a unified look, we designed a bespoke headboard for the bed and existing cupboards were remodelled by adding new borders and handles. In the living room, structural changes as removing chimney breast and closing one of the entry doors were made to create the desired space for a deep comfortable L-shaped sofa, the installation of wall lights, wide oak floorboards and a new colour scheme, completed the overall look. Moreover, a designer shelving system was installed to highlight the couple’s art pieces. Meanwhile a new extendable dining table, ideal for entertaining, and rattan chairs were sourced for the dining area, as well as site-specific art work to inject a pop of colour to the room. Upstairs in the office, a feeling of height and space was created by adding a bold strip of Burton Pink. The main brief for the bathroom was to completely transform the previously dark and storage-less space into an area of tranquillity. This was achieved by designing bespoke cabinetry, using off-white tones on the walls and a soft peach colour on the ceiling. A variety of textures were used on the surfaces, such as ribbed tiles and brass lighting, always adding to the softness of the room. In the nursery, we chose graphic lines to bring a colourful feature to the wall. This project saw our clients desire for personality and elegance at the core of our brief. The new basement we created included a double bedroom, a bathroom, a utility room, a gym/office room and a media room. As the existing kitchen had to be removed in order to support the new floor area, we added a few stand-out design features in the new bespoke kitchen, such as porcelain slabs for the kitchen worktop as well as the island to create a the look of a single concrete block, the bespoke oval marble table, the brass clad cabinets and a oversized sculptural lampshade. Moreover, thanks to the vintage parquet flooring throughout, we could create a “lived in” feeling of luxurious warmth. As the hallway entrance was quite narrow and the family was keen for more storage, we decided to turn the middle room - a room that often becomes a walk-through area - into a feature in itself. This we did by designing bespoke cabinets on either side of the fireplace to hide all coats and shoes. Meanwhile the antique stool is an invitation to sit as you get ready for the day. An abundance of light filters through the middle room due to the use of carefully placed bespoke steel doors, which is inspired by our client’s love of Mondrian. As was the shelving units above the fireplace and the bookshelf as you enter the kitchen. The metal steel floating staircase spindles was designed by Honestudio, the architects in charge of the structure of the basement. Downstairs, we used large concrete looking tiles in the hallway. We created even more storage space under the stairs and in the hallway, using brass cladded doors to create a bit of texture and a visual break. In the media room as well as the bedroom we chose a wool carpet instead, creating a space that is warm and inviting. In the media room we used gorgeous Italian bespoke wallpaper , marble coffee tables, a deep inviting sofa and dark coloured walls adding a sense of drama to the basement. The bathroom situated next to the bedroom was designed with a sense of playfulness, delivering a laid-back refuge, which is present in the bedroom as well. The dark blue rendered walls contrasted against the bespoke solid oak clad wall and the bespoke wardrobe where we used vintage crates as drawers reflects the teenage sons personality and style. Bespoke joinery was designed to integrate an electric fireplace, enhancing the room's ambience while providing ample storage for the family's belongings and showcasing their cherished items. The kitchen, the heart of their home, was reimagined with a striking royal blue tone that invites both daytime relaxation and evening socializing. The furniture and accessories were thoughtfully chosen to complement the overall design, adding layers of texture and warmth. An Italian-designed oval dining table adds softness to the otherwise rectangular-shaped living area, while the transparent dining chairs lend a light, modern feel. The combination of oak, brass, and marble materials creates an understated yet sophisticated aesthetic. Our first step was to reimagine the floorplan to maximize space and improve flow. On the top floor, we converted the dressing room and ensuite into a bedroom for the youngest family member. This space was transformed into a girls’ bedroom, complete with a new bespoke wardrobe and custom-designed ensuite bathroom. The master bathroom was completely remodeled to include a spacious walk-in shower, separate bathtub area, and an expansive wardrobe leading into the master bedroom. On the second floor, we reconfigured the children's areas, designing three individual bedrooms for the boys. Each room was carefully curated with bespoke joinery and furnishings that reflect the personality of each child. Vibrant blue doors throughout this floor tie the rooms together, creating a unified look. The shared bathroom was also renovated, introducing playful yellow and grey tiles to create a fun yet stylish atmosphere. The ground floor features a double living room, divided by color. A deep teal hue in the library area fosters a cozy, intimate atmosphere for winding down, while the front section of the room is kept light and bright, perfect for entertaining. Opposite the living room, we opened up the wall to create a spacious cloakroom with bright yellow doors, offering ample storage for coats, shoes, and scooters. Adjacent to this, a guest room with black and cream wallpaper, complete with its own ensuite bathroom, provides privacy and comfort for visitors. Throughout the hallway, we introduced new doors with reeded glass inserts to enhance the flow of natural light and create an open, airy feel. At the end of the hall, the door leads to the lower ground floor, where a large open-plan kitchen and living area connects seamlessly to the garden. The kitchen features elegant Carrara marble countertops, light cream cabinetry, and a striking salmon-colored island, creating a welcoming, contemporary space for the family. The dining area, overlooking the garden, benefits from abundant natural light and is perfect for hosting dinner parties or casual family brunches. The cloakroom is a hidden gem, brightened by bold pink and orange accents and complemented by vibrant wallpaper, adding a playful touch to the home. The boys’ den, painted in dark teal to create a dramatic atmosphere, is separated from the gym area by a custom reeded glass partition. This space offers the family a multifunctional area to relax, work out, and unwind. Our first step was to reimagine the floorplan to maximize space and improve flow. On the top floor, we converted the dressing room and ensuite into a bedroom for the youngest family member. This space was transformed into a girls’ bedroom, complete with a new bespoke wardrobe and custom-designed ensuite bathroom. The master bathroom was completely remodeled to include a spacious walk-in shower, separate bathtub area, and an expansive wardrobe leading into the master bedroom. On the second floor, we reconfigured the children's areas, designing three individual bedrooms for the boys. Each room was carefully curated with bespoke joinery and furnishings that reflect the personality of each child. Vibrant blue doors throughout this floor tie the rooms together, creating a unified look. The shared bathroom was also renovated, introducing playful yellow and grey tiles to create a fun yet stylish atmosphere. The ground floor features a double living room, divided by color. A deep teal hue in the library area fosters a cozy, intimate atmosphere for winding down, while the front section of the room is kept light and bright, perfect for entertaining. Opposite the living room, we opened up the wall to create a spacious cloakroom with bright yellow doors, offering ample storage for coats, shoes, and scooters. Adjacent to this, a guest room with black and cream wallpaper, complete with its own ensuite bathroom, provides privacy and comfort for visitors. Throughout the hallway, we introduced new doors with reeded glass inserts to enhance the flow of natural light and create an open, airy feel. At the end of the hall, the door leads to the lower ground floor, where a large open-plan kitchen and living area connects seamlessly to the garden. The kitchen features elegant Carrara marble countertops, light cream cabinetry, and a striking salmon-colored island, creating a welcoming, contemporary space for the family. The dining area, overlooking the garden, benefits from abundant natural light and is perfect for hosting dinner parties or casual family brunches. The cloakroom is a hidden gem, brightened by bold pink and orange accents and complemented by vibrant wallpaper, adding a playful touch to the home. The boys’ den, painted in dark teal to create a dramatic atmosphere, is separated from the gym area by a custom reeded glass partition. This space offers the family a multifunctional area to relax, work out, and unwind.
